Overview

The InviMag® Plant DNA Mini Kit/ KFmL allows for rapid and economical purification of genomic DNA from up to 100 mg of plant sample using magnetic beads. The kit is designed for semi-automated preparation on the KingFisher mL workstation. Up to 15 samples can be processed in parallel.

Workflow

First the plant samples are mechanically disrupted followed by lysis in an optimized buffer and Proteinase K digestion. Cell debris is removed by centrifugation. The cleared lysates are transferred to the subsequent automatic purification procedure. The DNA binds to magnetic particles, followed by washing steps and the final elution. The procedures are designed to avoid sample-to-sample cross contamination.

The purified DNA is ready to use for subsequent downstream applications or can be stored at –20 °C for subsequent use:

• PCR, real-time PCR

• Genotyping (e.g. detection of GMOs in various materials like soy and corn)

• Restriction digestion
