Overview

The InviMag® Plant DNA Mini Kit/ KF96 allows for rapid and economical purification of genomic DNA from plant samples using magnetic beads. The kit is designed for semi-automated preparation on the KingFisher 96 and Flex 96 workstations. Up to 96 samples can be processed in parallel.

Workflow

First the plant samples are mechanically disrupted followed by lysis in an optimized buffer and Proteinase K digestion. Cell debris is removed by centrifugation. The cleared lysates are transferred to the automatic purification procedure. The DNA binds to magnetic particles, followed by washing steps and the final elution. The procedures are designed to avoid sample-to-sample cross contamination.

The purified DNA is ready to use for subsequent downstream applications or can be stored at –20 °C for subsequent use: 

• PCR, real-time PCR

• Genotyping (e.g. detection of GMOs in various materials like soy and corn)

• Restriction digestion
