Overview

The InviMag® Pathogen Kit/ KF96 contains the lyophilized lysis buffer for bacterial DNA, viral DNA and viral RNA isolation from a variety of starting materials. After lysis the samples are transferred to a magnetic bead based procedure. The kit is designed for automated preparation on the KingFisher 96 and Flex 96 workstations. Up to 96 samples in parallel can be processed.

Workflow

The isolation process is based on the patented InviMag technology for isolation of nucleic acids by binding the nucleic acid onto magnetic particles without chaotropic buffer components. The sample is lysed in an optimized lysis buffer. The lysates are transferred to the subsequent automated purification procedure. The DNA/RNA binds to magnetic particles, followed by washing steps and the final elution. The procedure requires minimal interaction by the user, allowing safe handling of potentially infectious samples. The isolated nucleic acids are ready to use for subsequent downstream applications:
